Petrifying Springs Park

Located at Hwy. 31 and Hwy. A. 350 acres. Scenic hiking. Streams and rivers, picnic areas, playgrounds, volleyball courts, softball diamonds, a public golf course, shelter rentals, sledding hill, and the Carlisle Family Dog Park (open year-round). Cross country skiing and snowshoeing on all trails; lighted sledding hill at Area 2; lighted cross country skiing track on golf course. The UW-Parkside Community Cross Country Ski Club grooms the cross country ski trail using Kenosha County’s equipment. The night ski trail length is approximately 3,000 feet (0.57 miles). PLEASE NOTE: Kenosha County Parks will not be accepting pavilion reservations for Petrifying Springs Park for the 2012 season. Due to renovation and restoration projects at Petrifying Springs Park, the park pavilions will not be rented out during the 2012 season, as the Parks Division has no way to guarantee that there will be access to a pavilion weekdays or on weekends.

Rods for a Reason Car Show

July 8, 2012

Car and motorcycle show at Petrifying Springs Park. All proceeds go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. Rain date July 15. The show is at Parking Area #3.

Pike River Revival

September 22, 2012

Join in cleaning the Pike River from debris and trash. Bring boots, waders and reach sticks. Trash bags and gloves provided. Log Jam removal may take place and email if you have chainsaws, rope or winches. Free; please email to register by September 21. Please use the park’s front entrance on County Road JR.

Fall Wheel Ride

September 29, 2012

Bike ride to Petrifying Springs Park, where bike-related activities will be held. Closer to the event, there will be suggested routes to take and a time. Bike riders of all ability levels are invited to participate.
