The Village of Pleasant Prairie
Back to "Our Community"
The
Village of Pleasant Prairie is a welcoming community with a spirit that embraces all those who visit. Our community balances development with respect for the natural setting for which it is named. Pleasant Prairie preserves its beauty by maintaining natural conservancy areas, such as the Chiwaukee Prairie and the Des Plaines River Floodplain. Visitors here enjoy beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, top notch, outdoor shopping at Prime Outlets – Pleasant Prairie, and free tours at the Jelly Belly Center. We also host family-friendly events all year round. Visitors are invited to join us for our annual summer festival, Prairie Family Days; the Danskin Women’s Triathlon; Pleasant Prairie Triathlon; family-style holiday celebrations; Spring Ice Show; sporting events and more! Inside Prairie Springs Park, the scenic venue for these events, visitors will find a 100-acre spring-fed lake, Lake Andrea, surrounded by a 2.3-mile paved trail, perfect for walking, running, bicycling or in-line skating. Nestled inside the park, visitors will also find LakeView RecPlex, an expansive, multi-sport recreational facility. Here, guests enjoy a large indoor waterpark, athletic fieldhouse, fitness center, suspended track, racquetball, ice rinks (IcePlex) and several other amenities. Through RecPlex, Pleasant Prairie offers a variety of community centered programs, such as a Therapeutic Recreation program for youth and adults with disabilities; childcare and pre-school; health and wellness programs; party, meeting and team-building options; sporting events; swimming and skating lessons and more. We invite you to experience Pleasant Prairie firsthand. It’s a great place to live, work and play!
