Organized in 1842, THE TOWN OF WHEATLAND, located on the western end of Kenosha County is 24 square miles in size and includes the unincorporated communities of New Munster, Slades Corners, Wheatland, Powers Lake and Lily Lake and many smaller subdivisions. Our area’s two lakes, Lily Lake and Powers Lake, offer swimming, boating and fishing opportunities. The scenic Fox River is a landmark in our community, traveling in a north-south direction through the eastern part of the town. Wheatland is also home to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources New Munster Wildlife Area, which encompasses 1,048 acres and permits seasonal hunting. Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta, owned by the Boy Scouts of America, and located on the western edge of the town, has enabled several generations of Boy Scouts to participate in camping and outdoor activities. The Seno Woodland Education Center, a 131-acre forestry learning center also located in the western part of the town, is dedicated to forestry education and research. Owned and managed by the WWOA Foundation, Inc., there are many nature programs offered. Our farming community is gradually evolving into a residential community. We welcome visitors and new residents!
