Civil War Museum Exhibit: Stephen A. Douglas: From the Shadow of Lincoln

September 24, 2011 - March 18, 2012

This exhibit uses items from private collector George Buss to showcase Lincoln's political rival and show how, during Douglas' lifetime, he was the more popular of the two men. Douglas, a powerful politician and controversial legislator, is depicted through paintings, lithographs, sculptures, personal artifacts, campaign posters and cartoons.

Kenosha History Center Exhibit: Shake Rattle & Roll – Kenosha Auto Making in the 50’s

December 10, 2011 - September 30, 2012

Take a trip back to the 1950’s at this exhibit featuring a 50’s diner along with a jukebox to play all your favorite hits of the day. On display are autos that represent the best of the 50’s production by Nash-Kelvinator and AMC. Suggested donation: $2 adults / $1 students & children. Closed holidays.

Kenosha Public Museum Exhibit: Wolves and Wild Lands presented by the Uline Co.

October 8, 2011 – March 25, 2012

The exhibit includes five wolf specimens and one coyote specimen on loan from the Bell Museum of Natural History, in cooperation with the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minn. The exhibition features wolves and their closely related cousins, the red wolf and coyote. The story of wolves in North America takes us to many places, from the Arctic to the southwestern United States.

Family Fun Night

Carthage hosts Family Fun Nights for the community on most Friday evenings during the school year. All are welcome! Families can enjoy fun and educational, themed activities in Hedberg Library, browse the collection in the Center for Children's Literature or use the library computers, or swim and play basketball in the TARC.
