Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Announces Winners of 2011 Contest & Official Start of 2012 Contest

Kenosha, WI  (January 19, 2012) – The Kenosha Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (KACVB) has selected the winners of its 2011 Kenosha Area Picture Perfect Photo Contest. More than 50 photos were submitted in 2011. The first place winner was Dennis Persinger, of Kenosha, for his “7-7-7 Sculpture at Sunrise” photo taken on Simmons Island. This photo will be hard to re-create, as it shows a sunrise over the harbor during the haze created by the Minnesota forest fire. The second place winner was Kathy Brand of Kenosha, for her “Zoom - Zoom” photo taken at Food Folks & Spokes. Pete Selkowe, of Racine, was the third place winner for his photo “Harbor at Twilight”, taken of fishermen calling it a night at the Kenosha harbor.

The photos may be seen on the KACVB’s website www.kenoshacvb.com/offers/photo-contest. Each winner was awarded a dining gift certificate, to Eddie’s Steakhouse & Bistro, The Spot Drive-In, or Twisted Cuisine.

The Kenosha Area Picture Perfect Photo Contest continues in 2012.  Each photo submitted has the chance to be used on KACVB’s web site, in the Kenosha Area Visitors Guide and other marketing, to promote the Kenosha Area as a fun and exciting place for out-of-town visitors. Photos are judged based on content and quality. An entry form must be submitted with each photo.  The KACVB is looking for photos that represent all four seasons in Kenosha County, such as photos of festivals and events, recreational activities, landmarks, nature, and attractions.

For an entry form, log on to the KACVB’s website at www.KenoshaCVB.com, e-mail mjumisko@kenoshacvb.com, call (262) 654-7307 ext. 13, or visit the KACVB Visitor Information Center in Downtown Kenosha at 812 – 56th St. (Mon.-Fri. 8am-4:30pm).
