Gateway Technical College’s Center for Bioscience and the Integration of Computers and Telecommunication Technology (BioCATT)

Gateway Technical College’s BioCATT Center is recognized as a regional, statewide, and national partnership model for the advancement of two critical industry clusters in Southeastern Wisconsin: biomedical/pharmacology and telecommunications/computer technology. Relevant and responsive educational and training services in support of these clusters are the hallmark of BioCATT. This center serves as the technology hub to allow for the rapid movement and transfer of information within the region.

BioCATT is located on the north-most side of the Kenosha Campus. The 30,000 square foot, two-story Center hosts several computer labs on the first floor along with an Executive Training Room which accommodates 40 people, a Smart Classroom which holds 42 people and a Conference Room for 12 people. The second floor is home to state-of-the art laboratory equipment used by the Bioscience program and by Gateway’s nursing and health-related program students.

This Wi-fi facility has 85 computers including a wireless lab. The lobby area is equipped with seven computer workstations for community use. BioCATT has 3 rooms that support videoconferencing.

The BioCATT atrium is home to Cafe 91.1, a full-service coffee house featuring coffee, lattes and cappuccinos along with muffins, bagels and scones, and a variety of freshly-made sandwiches and soups. Cafe 91.1 is operated by On-Tray Catering, a Division of the Kenosha Achievement Center, a Kenosha-based non-profit that helps developmentally disabled individuals.
